I didn't even think of youtube and there are loads of videos on growing fruit and veg! That Claire woman is pretty good.
Thanks for the tip!

This has got my project juices flowing, every so often I like a challenge, so I will see if I can hook up the vidi camera to use as a live streaming cam, always got a web cam if need be. Watch this space  8)

Funnily enough I came across claire on youtube only yesterday!
I think it would be good to have a lot more gardening on tv and especially something specifically for vegetable/allotment gardening. There have been the odd series/episodes of gardeners world but it would be good to have something more regular.
At the risk of sounding like there is nothing left for me to learn, I do find it is getting harder to find material I have not already read/seen, which is a shame as there must be so much more. Remember that GW special where Monty Don (or was it Alan Titchmarsh) visited an allotment site in Birmingham - it was fascinating  :)

I think it was Monty. I remember he interviewed a chap who said he never watered anything on his allotment - his plot looked great. Then again, perhaps he was at the lower end of a sloping site and he benefited from water draining down.

Something on the Claire video about onoins and carrots had me scratching my head. She says plant them together because carrot fly don't like onions and onion fly don't like carrots.
Surely onions need to be well composted/manured because they're big feeders and you don't want to do that for carrots?????

Others may argue but when I tried it I was hit by carrot and onion fly  :( waste of time

The "Claire woman" is worth watching - I have all but given up on GW as it seems to be focused too much on flowers and landscape gardening rather than veg.
