George is a legend :) I have really enjoyed reading this thread and hearing all about his exploits and adventures on the lotty, I used to know a George he was a genius with anything metal and mechanics, he could mend anything build anything and had and equally envious pile of scrap :) I learnt a lot from him as I am sure there will be people around George who learn from him, that is the thing with this type of fellar do not be fooled into thinking he is somekind of a hoarding waste of time far from it, the man on the quiet is a genius with a hell of a lot of experience and knowledge to pass on to anyone that shows an interest :)

If I was on your lotty George too would be my friend and I would happily dwindle away hours lending a hand with his inventions, I have now bookmarked this thread and cannot wait for the next instalment :)

The estranged Mrs. George went to see him yesterday, so he was conspicuous by his absence! While she was there the locks in the photo were removed!

He said he was going to let it grow more and buy a violin!
He read an article in my paper (he has it the day after) about OCD, so now he's trying to curb his hoarding habits; unsuccessfully of course! ::)

Had my lunch with George the other day, not cooked by him I hasten to add, he's been tidying up again and has a few projects planned to improve the ambience of the classic interior! 8)

The view from the patio windows, he tried to clean them, but the muck is inside the double glazing! :nowink:

The main part of the shed is having a level floor put in! :)
The main reason for this is when George accidentally nods off in his chair he often finds himself on the floor due to its uneven surface!
I left around two this afternoon as George was mixing cement to fill in the gaps!

George cooked egg and chips with his shed's facilities today, and eat them in the sun with Arfur looking on!

George is fighting off a chest infection and is dosed up with anti-biotics, but it hasn't stopped him from visiting the plots!
He was busy side shooting his tomatoes as I took a pic of his carpet fitting, partitioning and new newspaper rack! ::)

Having given the matter some thought, I'm sure the reason George's Shed  is so appealing is due to the mix of pure gentility and pure slum.

Perhaps you've needed to grow up with Steptoe & Son to appreciate it...  ;)

Just to keep you all updated, George is ill!
He's not been on the plot for some time now, I know how he hates to stay at home, especially when the sun's shining!

Oh no and he will have missed Heckington show where I know he likes to exhibit his flowers. Hope he gets better soon.
