Good results this week!
« on: October 14, 2009, 00:00 »
First of all 2 of the fitters from the local double glazing place drove in with.

most of an old conservatory for us to re-cycle with  4 triple window frames, 4 or 5 sheets of polycarbonate, some 14ft long and to cap it all,2 of them had vents in!  Well I looked at the vents and hurriedly got a screwdriver and unscrewed them from tpolycarbonate because they are..........

solar powered vents!!!!!  Okay, only one of them is working at the moment, but when I get a minute I'll unscrew the other one and have a look, perhaps it is only a loose wire or something!   :D :D

What I thought I would do with the window frames is to join them together in a cube and attach some of the polycarbonate to the top and 3 sides to make a nice big rain shelter for one of the chicken runs.  At the moment I just have poly sheets leaning up against one of the houses, weighed down with a long heavy plank of wood.

I said to Brian he could use the cube for a new chook house and put ply on the outsides, but he said no, he'll do it his way, so I'll just get on and do it my way!!!!

OOhh I feel a song coming on!!!!

I've got a chicken shed to clean out this morning, but if it keeps on raining, I'll unscrew that other vent later and have a look.

I was so chuffed when I found the vents, even Brian hadn't looked atthem properly.  He said oh I would have just chucked them away!!!!  That's not very frugalistic is it??  :D
