transplanting fruit tree / bush
« on: September 22, 2009, 21:35 »
My established blackcurrant bush of about 5yrs, succummed badly to blackfly this year, and hardly produced any fruit. I want to dig it out, chuck in some well rotted manure or compost, and plant a miniature apricot tree there, (Isabella)
Will that be ok? Thanks  :)

Can't see why not. Problems normally occur when you try to put the same plant family in the same hole. Since you've gone with something different, you should be okay. Suggest you also throw in a few handfuls of blood and bone meal with the manure for added benefits.
