Neil from Doncaster.  I am a new member and I wishing to know what is the best time to move fruit brushes from 1 area to another.  I have 1 white current brush and 1 gooseberry brush that are approximately 3 year old brushes but I have only had them a year and I need to move them to another part of the allotment.  What is the best month to do this in?

Hi Neil and welcome to the forums 

The best time of year to move shrubs etc is after they have dropped their leaves - at the end of the year but not when waterlogged or frozen ground.

Dig a big hole where they are to go, dig up the plant with as much rootball as possible, move it pronto to the hole you dug first, give a dose of long-release fertiliser and WATER in.  Keep watering the following year lots and lots, even if it doesn't look too dry.
