Wow!  That is a lot of horseradish!  Was thinking of growing some but think I will take the advice and have a look around the woods for some instead.

Cripes Parsnip - I thought we had it bad. I'm going to show this to my OH and tell him we got off lightly.

I'm totally and utterly gobsmacked.

I'll reiterate - please don't put it on your plot!!!

Parsnip: did you try Ro***up ?

Yep, it doesn't touch it, well it burns the leaves, but the roots are just too damn tough...

I even tried double strength Glyphosate - It just shook it self and laughed - evil stuff

What are the plans for the plot Parsnip?  Do you know?  Will they try and let it to someone else or will it just be abandoned?

I do love horseradish and planted some (5 thongs purchased by mail order) last spring near the hedge and about 10M away from veggie area.  It is establishing slowly and looks quite healthy.  However this is a little worrying.  Surely something like Roundup or SBK will kill unwanted plants - won't it?

As you can see from Parsnip's photos - No it doesn't.

You have to dig it out, and ours comes from under a path which we really don't want to start digging up.

Ours is alot better than last year's influx, as it had been left for years prior to us having the plot.....but I don't think the council rotavating helped in containing it. We just keep digging it out where it comes up and hope that over the years it will lessen.
