i have 2 birds in quarantine with bogey nostrils an sneezes , i recongise swollen faces now pooy bums respritaroy probelms and these all need quarantining but is there anything else i would need to look for .

my 2 babes are ,one is ill but the other one is just there for company its my 2 isa brown babes . i know my quantine isnt perfect and its within the main run but they cant touch other birds and sometimes you just have to make do with the best you got . i just thought this would be a good post to have then new chicken owners can keep an eye out on certain things and know whats what .

Following on then from Loobys thread then whilst your birds are in quarantine with their own water (with garlic) and feed (with poultry spice) (fresh daily and dishes thoroughly cleaned) then apart from the meds they are on all you can do is pooh pick every day (anything unusual with their pooh check on the pooh pages - if they are different then photograph them and post on this forum for advice), keep them dry and out of draughts. If their symptoms get any worse or if after 7 days of antibiotics there is no improvement then go back to the vets.

My quarantine area isn't perfect either as my birds free range and all the other birds come up to the hospital ark to investigate  :lol:

The main thing is to keep them clean, dry, fed and watered properly and get medical help when needed  :D. Hope this helps, Joyfullxx

well the baby that had the yukky nostrils is clearing up really well am hoping i can let her back out the weekend when shes had the full 7 days on tylan so i am pleased .
