What is it with me and Sage. I just can't seem to keep any for more than a few weeks without it dying. I bought some from the local garden center this summer and followed instructions, potted it on in a bigger pot. Kept it watered and it's leaves are already going thin and wispy and withering.

Are it's roots too wet?  I believe it needs really good drainage in a gritty compost like many other herbs.  Also make sure the leaves aren't wetted when watering or they can go crispy in the sun.

Yup, I'm with Plot22 on this one; like most mediterranean herbs it likes sun and well-drained soil.
You are probably being much too kind to it (parsley would be much more appreciative though...)

I was watering it every day. I have now put it in the greenhouse without watering but it still looks a sorry state
