I am growing pumpkins for a second year and as yet have no pumpkins developing    Last year I only grew two plants and the only pumpkin I got was through hand pollination and unfortunately (as they do with everything else I seem to grow) the badgers got to it 

This year I decided to grow 8 pumpkin plants and have an abundance of female flowers, but they all die off before the male flowers open and are therefore not being pollinated - what can I do?   Is it too late for me to expect a good sized pumpkin for halloween?

You can pollinate them with closely related plants such as courgettes or squashes.

It will not affect the fruit but seeds from the fruit might produce some interesting varients

i have had the same problem, but suddenly male and female are now open together. with hand pollenation its looking like maybe 2 per plant. fingers crossed.

It does not seem to be a good year for pumpkins, we had one developing at work that6 has been eaten by slugs I only have two at home. Female flowers did not seem to develop until the end of July start of August
