Most of the OB's (old boys) on our site have permanent 'frames ' built from scaffold poles and use these year in year out.  They do dig out a ditch and fill with kitchen waste though.  Our bean trench has been in the same place for the last three years, not through c hoice but just where it has ended up  and this year we are on our third lot of beans and still not having a lot of luck.

Oh  :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :PMos. I won't try and come and see this  'wondrous place' that is Ashford next time I'm on the mainland.  I shall ignore you  as I would the plague. How come the Ob's can do it and we can't?

I was only joking ::)....Honest
I think it's cos they dig their deep trenches and fill with lots of compostable stuff.....it's like replacing the soil each year, i suppose!
