They'd dig a nice hole in your bank account, I take it?   Sorry no, I don't use them.

well, exactly, but you could dig a hole in the show site with them and it was like concrete. My garden tends that way too. Worth the money if it saves the work

The web site states that they seem to have an adverse effect on slugs and snails,I would be a little concerned that if they have that much residual power then what else might they be altering and leaving in the soil. I actually prefer old tools (I am leaving myself wide open here for WG to put my foot in it)  I like to think that I am carrying on the traditions of the original owners and am bridging the gap between then and now. For me they seem to have a warmth that modern often expensive garden tools dont have.

Hang on ! why are bronze tools better than carbon steel or stainless ? they can't be as hard for a start, as we ditched them at the end of the bronze age after all a bronze sword don't stand against an iron one does it, or am I missing the point ? Is it because there pretty ?

Mkhenry wish I could get hold of a old hoe head, go in the shops and they all seem to be stuck onto a cold nasty bit of cheap metal. You used to get em from wilko's but even they have dropped them now.

Rich know what you mean.  I manage to get hold of a very old spud shovel wonderful tool.Makes trenching so easy.  The handle is warm and tactile. turn it over it makes a great seed drill. Its a bit like a small mattock, but very well made.
