My poor  pumpkin (see picture) has caught something, which I'm assuming is CMV. Anyway, I know whatever it is I'm going to have to destroy the plant but can I save the fruit (for a halloween lantern) that has started to ripen ?

Not good hygiene, I know, but I ignore any mosaic problems until I have to do something about it, can you just pull the worst affected leaves off - allowing your pumpkin to mature / grow for longer?

Yorkie, I'm afraid it was beyond saving  . Initially noticed it on one leaf on Thursday but have been away until today - It had spread to them all (and it was a fairly large plant)

Went back down the plot an hour after my original post and leaves had started curling up so it was straight in the bin, I have my (currently) very productive Cucumbers growing next door so want to save them if nothing else.

Anyway, can I still keep, in isolation, my ripening fruit or is it going to be a waste of time?
