Have you seen anything like this / is this common?

When my second boy Thyme went to tread one of the girls, one of the older girls attacked Jelly as she was *ahem* otherwise engaged

The two older hens wont curtsey to Thyme, but the younger ones do.

Is this normal behaviour?

You heard the expression kick someone when they are down well ... I reckon that is why Jelly wuz attacked.
How old is Thyme? Is he fully grown?

Thyme is just a baby.  He is 13 weeks old (though he weighs about 10lbs!) and has just started to crow over the past few days.

He is still finding he feet then and still does not have authority over the older girls but does over the smaller girls.
