Broken tom stems growing
« on: July 17, 2009, 14:23 »
I have found that the most healthy lush green toms this year are the ones I broke by accident in beginning of June and replanted the broken bits.  Funny that isn't it.  But well worth doing again if I break any which I am bound to do.

I only did that today. Big one broke off in the wind so planted it in the poly tunnel.

Bit late now, but don't forget next year to stick your side shoots in as well.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Thanks from me too DD, I had poor germination with tomato seeds this year, but by propagating the side shoots from those that did appear , I managed to get lots of healthy plants .
