I shred the stalks to compost or burn them if I have enough other stuff for a bonfire. I have too many for my bean trenches.
I was put on this earth to accomplish a certain number of things; right now I am so far behind I will never die.

Beans don't get bothered by clubroot though, so why not save me a job?

Spuds are going where the clubbed cabbages were, so they're seen to. (never limed last year, only 6xed).

The communal heap is getting a bit large, and considering that there's mostly nasty stuff there, I see no reason to add to it more than I need.

Might burn the biggest though - as long as I get some decent dry stuff to start it all off.

Club root remains in the soil for years.

And years.

And years.

Then some.

Eventually you'd probably get around to planting brassicas there, having forgotten where you buried the club root years ago.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Absolutely never not nohow where the new 'Patch' bean poles are DD.

They're just about concreted in, and on the edge of a precipice, with subterranean and vertical drainage pipes embedded in to make watering easier...

I ain't going to change that for several years, - even more than that...;0)

No, shouldn't be sprouting until spring, although mine has.

Yours sounds about on schedule.
