Yellow Cucumbers

I have grown 3 Cu plants in my greenhouse and they seemed to be doing fine. Sum cracking looking fruit.The first Cu off was delicious. The next 2 are long and fat but...yellow!

taste alright but whats going off? any ideas please

Sounds like you left them too long before harvesting.

I agree. For as long as it takes a cuke to reach a good size, in the blink of an eye they're overgrown and ready as seed cukes. It's tempting to try for huge cukes but not wise until you can easily spot when they're just hitting the too old stage (mottling yellow skin, huge seeds inside). Best to enjoy them green and not too large...and plant more

Could simply be a yellow cucumber.

Met them many many years ago, late 60's early 70's.
Mr Clarke at school grew them in the greenhouse.
We had Rural Studies at our school so had the greenhouse as well to grow things in.
Actiually would like to know the variety and where you got them.

If you haven't tried it, slice one and dip a slice in sugar.
The green ones are as good as well in the stuff.

The first one off was described as "OK", so I don't think the variety's the cause!
