Haqve just had message from my trusty hensitter to say that the henhouse is full of black fleas!

I have told her to keep out. I will be back this evening before the girls go to bed. What should I do? I had no idea hens got fleas? Oh Lord why does this happen when I'm not there.

Have you got any frontline in for cats (the spray type). I use on my girls and works a treat. You'll have to wait till you seee for yourself what they are though to be sure of the problem. Hope you get it sorted

Are you sure he/she did not say flies?  I would imagine they are flies and do not panic its common in these warm temperatures.

Any new on what they were - fleas or flies?
