every year something fails, last year 1 parsnip germinated out of three pks, year b4 runner beans 24 canes only 5 plants in the end after multiple sowings and now this year onions all germinated but after 3 months are the same size as 5 days after germination. Will i ever get a year when everything performs?

onions have been bad generally this year...i blame the weather .....for everything that goes wrong
I had to really feed and then water cos of long dry spell before my onions shifted at all, and they're only salad ones ..........they usually grow so easily...so who knows

I have had loads go wrong this year.. lettuce has been terrible, none of my pumpkins germinated (bought plants from a garden centre in the end), runner and french beans terrible germination.. in fact most rotted. Garlic - about 20 now have rotted. Leeks - eaten!!?? Carrots, dug up by a darn fox and cats!!. Chillies eaten alive by green fly whilst on holiday for a week.

Onions/shallots on the other hand are going good guns

My Courgettes took two sowings to get any plants, but after planting out, they have now curled up and died.

Climbing French Beans have been very poor and only about 10% have germinated.  Looks like I will have to buy plants.  Back to runner beans next year.  Everything else seems to be OK though.

I've failed miserably on, of all things horseraddish - the one that invades everbody elses plots!

The roots have just rotted in their tubs, so I've been out and bought soem ready grown plants in

garlic. every year it's the same, no fat bulbs. And cucumber - don't get me started on cucumber

This year it was my peas that didn't germinate.

Not just me then maybe next year everything planted will grow to fruitition.

Broad beans all dying without any beans, covered in blackfly (was too late by the time I noticed them as I hadn't been for a few days), not bothering to grow them next year, only 2 sweetpeas out of 3 packets germinated, in fact most flowers didn't work, 1 chilli out of loads germinated, no aubergines.

Tons of toms and peppers though

I only had a few sweetcorn not germinate, although those that did die after a few weeks..no idea why

My Peas got eaten by...mice or something..

But everything else has been brilliant.. It's my first year so I'm really chuffed

I can't seem to grow rocket or spring onions this year. And rocket is meant to grow like  a weed !
