Many, many thanks to all you kind people who sent hugs.  I still miss my Henrietta but the good news is that I now have two new girls to keep Koko, the Blackrock, company: a 10 week old Rhode Island Red and a Welsummer (with a wonky tail!) who is about the same age.  Koko has discovered her "inner mother" and has adapted beautifully to the two babies.  There was a small bald patch on the Welsummer's tail this morning so perhaps she's not so maternal after all and I may still have to separate them.

congratulations on your new arrivals ive got a little Rhodie and a wellsummer, the rir is top hen and a brilliant character & the wellsummer is the prettiest little hen that lays gorgeous deep brown eggs.    have fun with them
