  Many thanks. I found quite a lot and I think I'll give it a go.
Can I just but some sweet taties from Tesco and chit them or do I have to get special seed potatoes?

I get store potatoes and get them to slip for me, but I have a warmer summer than most UK'rs. My best source was a local market garden and farmers who grew a variety better for my area so now I slip those. Might be difficult for you, but ask at garden centres and such. You're bound to find a link somewhere.
