Wickes Greenhouse
« on: June 12, 2009, 07:59 »
I'm thinking of investing in a 8X6 greenhouse from Wickes. The list price is £359 but by ordering online I can get it for £305 including the base, horticultural glass and delivery.

The picture on their website looks like it's a Halls greenhouse but badged Wickes.

If anyone's got one could they give me an idea of how sturdy it is and their opinion of it please?

I would be grateful for any other information you think might be useful to me.

I can't remember how to rename a url but this is the address of Wickes webpage

Thanks very much

It looks as good as any other one you could buy, and it's a pretty good price.
Go on, buy it, you know you want to..... ;)

I found the same thing but cheaper at Argos. Odered it yesterday. Thanks for your help.
Went for the toughened glass option as there are sometime Junior Gardeners on the plot.

I like the sliding door, I have real trouble with my swing door. But i would watch the local papers and free cycle unless you are in a hurry or money is no trouble. At this time of the year I cannot understand why you would need one tomorrow.

Did a barter job for someone in return for Argos vouchers.

Price of Greenhouse is only held 'til July.

Takes up to a month to be delivered.

Potatoes will be out of the proposed site by then so I can start the base.

Greenhouse will be up and running by August.

Total cost to me, just a bit of expertise electrical maintenance and installation work.

Simple
