A blight question? Toms & tatties
« on: June 03, 2009, 19:26 »
Is there a difference between tomato blight and potato blight and can it cross between species. Can my tomatoes catch blight from my potatoes in other words or visa versa?

The Blight is caused by a water fungus and can affect tomoatoes and potatoes, as well as all members of the solanacae family (inc peppers, aubergene etc)

Nasty thing is blight

Tomato blight and potato blight are one and the same thing I`m afraid. Toms and Pots are very closely related and share all the same diseases. When handling either ALWAYS wash your hands before dealing with the other.
