starting a new alllotment from scratch
« on: April 05, 2007, 21:07 »
ok some of you may have heard i took on a garden that had been neglected for a few years complete with greenhouse that had suffered from gales . well i started by hand digging a small bed that was full of rubbish not including twitch.couch bindweed ,.and got some onion sets and shallots in

. i have rebuitl the path with old pallet boards and am in the proces of reglazing the greenhouses and bringing the garden back up to being fit to grow stuff .this garden is a full 30yds wide and the same deep ,i pay nothing for the plot but i wil provide a good feed from the greenhouses and the garden .

i also pruned the existing plum trees and a rather crappy looking small apple tree that is over shadowed by large conifer trees( plans in line to knock em down ) i removed a couple tonnes of soil iron and other assorted dodo from a so callled sopoil heap in the top left corner .after removing a full 6 tonne skip of dumped kitchen units bed , s mattresses and obnoxios stuff . here a few pics of the plot so far

.i nuked the whole lot with roundup. and today i burned it off ,this weekend is the plan to rotavate it , due to the confines of fencing and that it has limited acces  from the road  i will be using the honda . more pictures and gardening ideas to follow
still alive /............

Path? What path?

In the first pic, what is the row of sticks to the left of the plum tree?  :?
