I have what look like greenfly in the greenhouse - well they are green but they are not doing much flying!

They are on my peppers (sweet and chilli) and are congregating where the leaf joins the stem.  There are what look like white droppings on the soil (this was how I first noticed them).

Any suggestions on how to get rid of the little fellows?  Will the do terrible damage?

Squish 'em, (gently) with your fingers!

Really!  There are lots of them!  But will give it a go.  Should I rub them off the leaf or just squish them where they are?

the white stuff on the floor is their shed skins.  not all aphids fly - not sure if they develop this when they reach adulthood or if (like ants) there's only certain ones that fly but I agree with DD;, just squish them between your fingers.

you could also look into getting some ladybird or lacewing larvae and they will help too.
