Ok so my new girls are arriving next friday we have converted our childrens old plastic wendy house into their new home looking very cosy indeed, my question is that i was told that with it being plastic that red mite would not be able to live on the plastic, is this true please.    nicky :)

Red mite will take up residence in any crevice nook or crannie ,there should be less with plastic but condensation may be a problem as plastic tends to be colder than wood.

Make sure there are no draughts at the joins but plenty of ventilation at roof level and you should be ok.
If you want to post soem photos, we'd be happy to advise if there are any obvious problems. And of course we can pinch any good ideas ! :D

Oh, and in answer to your question, I think the beauty of plastic is that you can drench it in red mite killer and they have no woodgrain to stick to.
