do potatoes grow, i have some in tubs and they are about 2 1/2 foot tall and bushy!!! they went in in feb...

Generally not as tall as that!

Are they inside? Is that the height of the foliage, or the height of foliage plus the tub?
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

yes they are just under 2 1/2 ft not including the pot.....  ???

Probably won't grow a lot taller if they've been in 3 months.

Have they flowered yet, or have you had a scratch around to see what lies beneath?

My 1st earlies are about that size also and buds are forming nicely. Not checked on any spuds yet, but are hopping to get some soon.

I think eventual hight varies with variety. Some main crop go to 4-5 feet.

But the very early planting - less light conditions - would pull a bit on most of them , I'd think.

Last year my potatoes grew stems that were just over 6ft long. They all fell over and were awful to manage. The cropping was pretty poor also.
This year I have gone bcack to pot. So far 2 pots have grwon well but not as tall as yours, but they are still going.
