Tumbling Tomato's
« on: May 10, 2009, 16:34 »
Hi,

I sowed my tumbling tomato seeds 7 days ago in a germinator which has been located inside the house for the last 7 days, They have started to show up but wanted to know when is the best time to plant them into my sq ft garden outside. They will soon be  touching the top of the germinator so was not sure if to remove the top and keep them inside for another week or two.

IMHO I would take the top off or they might get a bit leggy  ??? By the time they are at the flower truss bud size it should be Ok to plant these out I should think  :)

They look as if they could do with being nearer to the light as well :)
But please don't put your babies in scorching hot sun either :(

Would they be better in a shed and next to a shed window that faces east. At the minute the only place in the house is where they are now as our front of the house faces east.

You'll probably need to pot them up before they are big enough to plant out. When you do, put them deeper so that they are buried up to their seed leaves and that will cure where they've got a bit tall and skinny :)
