I've been told by a friend, who is a son of a farmer, and another user on this forum that it's possible to by pass the deeds ruling of "no pigs and poultry" by getting ornamental birds.  I was just wondering if anyone else has done this and had success with it and be able to share their experience? Did the council have anything to say about it? 

I am going to ring my council and ask them, but I'm exploring the idea of if this is a viable way of getting round it or not. 

Any anecdotes/advice/experiences are appreciated! Thanks 

(Also is there some sort of guide line ornamental list of birds on the net as I have a feeling the council won't have one of those? I know Silkies, Dutch Bantams and Barbu D'anvers are right?)

Have a look at true bantams, these are seen as ornamental and not for eggs/meat
these are few....

Pekins
Dutch booted bantams
Seabrights
Poland
Silkies
Japanese bantam
Belgium bearded

Leeds Council said even though it's in our deeds not to have poultry that it's fine to have ornamental chooks!

Just need to get this in some form of written conformation...just incase anyone comes calling...
