Slugs, worms etc

As a relative newcomer, two months with four lovely chickens, can I ask is there any problem in chickens eating slugs, worms etc? They go crazy for them and with it being wet at the moment there are plenty around and when I let them out of the shed they go nuts for them. They are enjoying the odd spring cabbage that I have lovingly grown over the winter and my daughter keeps nicking one to give them.

No problem at all with them eating the creepy crawlies. Mine also go wild for them and come running the moment I pick up a spade as they know it means worms! They also keep breaking into my compost daleks and pulling out the compost to get to the worms. It's never been so well aerated and turned before!

I hope not within seconds of mine coming out they find them and a good feast on them

YUK! Doesn't work for me but they seem to love them

mine love spending there time on the horse manure pile. There are millions of worms in there.

We seem to have a lack of slugs this year. Think someone told them we have ducks and they have emigrated.

Must be all the rain we have had in Derbyshire, slugs in abundance, I am out every night chucking them over the wall, snails too..... blighters, they are having a go at my lettuce and spring cabbage.

Must get some more slug pellets...

I send my kids off on creepy crawly hunts in the park, little pots with lids, hand trowel and lots of enthusiam. My chickens love them... they really like catching passing flies!! So funny watching them!

I presume the bugs are a good source of protein... I have also bought mine some mealworms from the pet shop.
