Radish
« on: April 29, 2009, 16:33 »
My radish has done really well this year so far and I am wondering if that is because this year I put loads of pelleted chicken poo in the high rise bed.  Actually the lettuce looks goodon it as well.  This is the third year of using the bed.  First year excellent results it had been filled with compost and mulch.  Second year not as good a result at all.  So far this year looking good.

Could be the weather of course but if not just shows a little poo goes a long way.

Still on radishes but a little off topic - how can I tell when my radishes are ready to pick?  Know I'm a complete twit for having to ask but I've never grown radishes (or anything else for that matter) b4

You can normally see when they start to swell.  If not, scrape away a little bit of soil carefully.
