Cauli's and Cabbages
« on: April 29, 2009, 07:39 »
Hi,

Is it too late to sow more primo and mayflower cabbages ? And does anyone do them in modules and are succesful or do you just use standard plastic pots ?

Thanks

Primo especiall grow fast, so I'd give it a shot.

My method uses seed tray inserts - 20 to a half size tray. One seed per cell. Keep moist & you'll get nearly 100% germination.

When the first two proper leaves appear, pot on into 3" pots. grow on to about 6"-8" height & plant out in final position.

Makes a packet of seed last years.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Thanks DD.

I have a bit of a lack of 3" pots at the momment so do you think it would be fine to start them like you said and then move them onto larger trays ?

Thanks
