Been moving things around in my greenhouse today to make room for planting runner and French beans and when I picked up the tomato plants their roots had made their way into my capillary matting.  They are all in three inch pots at the moment, should I go a size bigger already?

Also another pot lifted up revealed a load of ants, what can I do about these little pests?

Otherwise everything is growing nicely.

Yes pot up the toms

Ants - boiling water, ant chemical doom, whatever approach you prefer really and which won't affect your capillary matting if it's electrical

pot on your toms to a 6" pot and as for the ants they should be left in the greenhouse , they dont do damage , and will eventually move out once the compost around the tomatoe plants are watered well , the ants prefere warm dry places , sounds like they in the tomato heaven just now ,
