List of failures getting worrying
« on: April 08, 2009, 16:28 »
and Im starting to blame the B&Q compost

1. 6 prairie fire chillies - not cheap either..and Ive only 4 left
2. out of two varieties of toms, 6 seeds of each (so 12 in total ) only 1 has germinated
3. Spring onions - not one show
4. peas in pots..two varieties - but theres probably still time for these to show
5. broccoli - 3 out of 30 seeds
6. butternut squash - 0 out of 6

Everything else has done ok, so Im confused...maybe it was my second bag of compost not being up to scratch, but I didnt keep track of which bag was which  :( :( :(

Looks like the seed police need to pay you a visit!
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

I havent done anything!  'onest Guv! Im wracking my brains as to what Ive done wrong, but I sowed 8 sweet million toms and 7 have shown and are healthy. Ive sown 10 hot apache chillies and have 7 sturdy babies from them. Sprouts, claptons and cabbages have all behaved themselves..as have lettuce and onions and leeks! Ive plenty more, but am I too late for toms now? (sorry!!) Chillies I can try and not too worried but Im worried about toms as I only have cherry

Not at all too late for toms. They'll soon catch up.

If they fail, I'll drive up there with me spares!

Now there's an incentive to get them to grow! :tongue2:

I've got some chillis (cayenne, jalapeno and Joe's long) spare if you want me to bring some over as visiting Stuart's pigs the first Sunday in May. He said you were coming over too.

My caulies are being very naughty and won't germinate.

The rest are coming through fine with only about 10% failure rate.

Saving the Claptons off DD for later in the year so i can over winter them.
