Tilly and the Nest Boxes

One of our new hens, a Black Rock, was alittle more mature than the rest and I was told that if she wasn't already laying, she surely would be within a week's time.  She spent alot of time yesterday inspecting the nest boxes and today spent most of her time back and forth in and out, very intent.  Finally she went into one and I could hear her sorting out the bedding.  She's been in there now for an hour.  Hhhhmmmm . . . . .    Is it true they make a lot of fuss to announce they laid an egg?  Ah yes, anticipation!
