Peas! thats intresting idea DD out of all the things i thought never considered peas! Have actually allocated enough space on my plot to build something like your pea plot (pic shown in another thread).

Could you please elaborate on why peas would do so well in a raised bed , as im warming to your idea now.

cheers  :)

I've just made one into a permanent herb bed.  Right now I am hardening off some greyhound cabbages to go into another one.

At the moment I have broad beans, onions, garlic, perpetual spinach and spring cabbages all doing well.  Can't really think of anything that wouldn't be ok in them except potatoes might be awkward to dig up.

Try using bush or dwarf varieties and space them much closer together than it says on the packet.
Cheese makes everything better.

is the soil nice a fluffy ?

Id stick other roots in there while you can, perhaps some snips and some beetleroot, how about some onions, shallots - bit early for salads out in the open though. You could wait a bit and put some outdoor bush toms in there...

Now thats the best idea for me so far i think Lardman ) 'bush toms' thanks.

Which leads me to another question if anybody can help , my toms are Tomato 'Pannovy' F1 (Cordon Indetermnate) grown from seed. this is my first time growing tomatoes and i cant find anywhere if they vine or bush.

Can anybody help? As i would love to use me second raised bed for them.

cheers

I think 'indeterminate'=vine and 'determinate'=bush, although I'm not positive.
