I woun't be growing any squash types things till next month in the greenhouse. The sniff of frost and they are gonners. Hmm actually I started my BNS  Thursday March 27, 2008 last year

If you start too early, plants get too staggly before planting out.

Earliest to plant out is end of May so work back from there - timing depends on where you start them and grow them on, they grow rapidly with a bit of heat.

Cant wait for the kids to get theres going, they always have a pumpkin at Halloween.

I agree with the others. Think of how sensitive courgette plants are and that's how sensitive pumpkin plants are. Patience will reward you. I'll be starting mine about the 2nd week of April for planting out in late May and with some fleece for the first week or so.
