Greenhouse staging from a high sleeper
« on: February 20, 2009, 21:02 »
Son has outgrown his high sleeper bed and I had a brainwave.  Turn it into greenhouse staging!  Has worked very well and is pretty sturdy too.  I am always seeing these on offer on freecycle so thought I would share incase anyone else gets an idea from it!

Absolutely Elcie, my mantra is throw nothing away.  By the way, whereabouts are you in MK?

My allotment plot is in Walnut Tree Ice.

Grannie - that made me laugh!  The ladder isn't on it anymore!  The one we had gave a variety of different height choices so I was able to lower the level of the table top without having to drill any extra holes.

Ooooh....can you postts pic?

I have to build myself some new staging soon as my Woollies efforts have self destructed and are a buckled mess.  Was planning on replicating the pallet design posted here before but this sound like a good idea too.
Are we nearly there yet?

It's a good and very imaginative idea!  And like you said Elcie, there are always plenty of these on freecycle!  Mind you, can you imagine going to someone's house to collect one.  "Is it for your little boy's bedroom?"  No says you, it's giog in the greenhouse!!!!

I could put one in my polytunnel, grow my strawberries on the top, and plant my tomatoes underneath it!!!   :D

Good thinking. My dad made us some from the remains of his old airing cupboard shelves.

All varnished so can be wiped clean.

Can someone direct me to the pallet design staging.

Had thought of this also and could do with having a look how others did this
