Did you watch Victorian Farm on BBC2?

If you did, can you remember the name of the berry that Ruth was picking in Episode 5 (i think).  Low growing small blueish berry.

It's driving me mad.

Would it have been Wimberries,i skyplus recorded the series,but have not watched five or six yet.

yes, it was a whinberry ( she said it was also known as a bilberry)

we've got them growing wild round here....I just never knew what they were  :blush: but now I shall be out getting a free harvest of jam making stuff!!

Oh thank-you, your all quite correct. Have googled images for confirmation.

I have them growing in my hedgerows and didn't know what they were until i saw the programme.

Yup, another little harvest for me too.!!

Ooooh - winberry crumble is stuff of legends in our family.

Many a sunday evening was spent with everyone full to burst and grinning at each other with purple stained winberry crumble teeth!!! :D
