Ive just found some rasberry canes i havent planted ( 20 red ones, 20 yellow ones ) ,  ive had them since late november, in the cold, the roots are very dry, but they were when i bought them, the canes still seem the same, no more dry than they were, under the bark is still green (so to me looks fine )

I have bought them other years from garden centers and they obviously they have them in stock dry some time,

is there any point planting them? or are they going to be dead?

Well they definitely won't come to much if you don't plant them.
As they are dormant, and haven't been put in the warm which would have 'woken' them I would think they are probably ok but I'd get them at least heeled in ASAP.
In the meantime, perhaps damp sacking would be better than nothing, but for all I know they might be better off dry, so better wait for someone more experienced to advise on that.

I decided to pot them up, easier than wondering wether to or not

Soaked them in water for an hour , then packed them into 5L plastic bag nursery pots , maybe they will grow, if not i`ll just tip the compost out and reuse it.

Ive put them outside as i presume thats the best place?
