Quote from: "slowef"
This brown one is called Crunchie, I gave it to my neice but it has to live with me as her mum hasn't rom for chickens.

The others are all Black and White, shame the other brown one died they were much cuter.

How do you sex Polish Chicks, any ideas.  I was told it might be the length of feathers long on top boy or maybe other wy round?

New buffs and welsummer
Just a couple of pics of the new buffs and the ugle chick :(  and my welsummer cockerel he is about 16 weeks now and getting his cock-a-doodle in order :)
He is a fine looking chap and his lady is just as nice, will catch her next time.

The new buffs look a lot better after just a week here, dust baths and good food have helped

Hi Kathy

They are a relatively new hybrid called Amberlinks, just been introduced into this country from Holland.  But I don't know what sort of cross they are.

The brown ones are the Bovans Goldline that some of the others have been talking about lately

Yes I recognised the Bovans Goldlines - we  have one in our little trio  :D
She (Henna) is a lovely hen and is the friendliest and the most inquisitive. She was also the first to lay. I would have more of them like a shot (except we haven't the room)!

Do the Amberlinks lay white eggs? they look very pretty :D

What a lovely place to live Le Chant.  I guess from the low fence to the chicken run that you don't have a fox problem

It's a truly idyllic place to live Aunt Sally, but we do have foxes here although not so prevalent as the Uk. Our neighbours tend to keep Reynard's population down fairly well. Just locked our 4 young ladies up for the night (It's 9pm here) and we're about to have dinner. So far, so good...chooks seem to have settled in well, and they've been an instant hit with the guests here today too!

Here's to eggs 4 & 5 tomorrow in time for breakfast! Or will they be added to the Yorkshire Puddings?
