Bring them inside and they appear dead?!

Perhaps I have left them outside too long.. but I left some of my pepper plants in the greenhouse and they appear to be OK outside ableit their leaves are slightly limp but look healthy. the minute i bring them inside the leaves go extremely limp and soft/rubbery and appear to be dead, i wanted to overwinter them.  

can anyone explant what is happening or what is wrong with them? will they recover?
