leaf/sheild beetle

Hi over the last few years these have colonized my lotty mainly in my raspberries ive been told that these are pests but since they arrived i now have no maggots anymore in the raspberries and do not suffer with greenfly on the lotty are these responsible i cannot find any sort of damage caused by these beetles so they can stay but curious as to what they eat

They suck the sap of the plant, but do very little harm.

Interesting they are a sap sucker as far as I'm aware, like here.

The RHS has more info, about them including sucking sap & causing little damage. (Remembered that from last time this came up - so I do learn somethings!).

Thanks for the replies they can stay now still dont know whats removed the raspberry maggots and greenfly from my lotty but im happy
