As the weather's turning cold and we're getting a bit of snow on the ground is there anything I can do to make my girls a bit more comfortable and warm?

i cooked some rice which they ate warm and thanked me profusely for. and i put some of that hemp bedding for horses over their muddy run. a bit more straw than usual in the coop but i think they can tolerate the cold quite well if there's no draughts.

I always insulate my coop as it is designed for 6-10 birds and I only have 3 so they get cold.  Basically I insulate with thick cardboard on the inside to reduce the area and pack in some extra straw.  When it gets really cold I use straw bales covered in plastic sheet on the outside of the coop.  Other than that just make sure the girls are well fed and have access to non frozen water!
