Can anyone tell my why I brought Blood Fish and Bone?

Going to sound like a silly question but I brought a box in Wilkos the other week in preperation of planting something. Trouble is I can't remember what, and it must have been something I read on here.

I planted my garlic yesterday and still need to do my radar onion and broadbeans. Was it for one of these???

Ah, so I can stick it round all of them then? I think I must have read a topic where it mentioned something that I was about to plant & I grabbed a box when shopping. Got down the allotment yesterday & couldn't remember which one and didn't want to ruin them putting it round the wrong one! Thanks

I fling it down before I plant/sow most things and Wilkos is a good place to get it cheap.
Self-sufficient in rasberries and bindweed. Slug pellets can be handy.

well sort of, the problem is in the depths of winter you really don't want lush green growth which you will get from nitrogen, the plants need to be like us Northerners, hard, otherwise the first frost and the plant will not be a happy one.

The late great Geoff Hamilton used Blood, fish and bonemeal on everything and he got pretty incredible crops. I can get only blood and bonemeal mix, which I add to the hole when planting, then top with a bit of the bloodmeal which I can sometimes find separately. Not only does it add extra nutrients, but the pesky squirrels won't dig in those bloodmeal topped areas (strict vegetarians). Works great for tulips, one of their favourite foods, unless I forget.

Its NPK in equal measure, which are the big three plant grower nutrients.
We use chemicals in this garden, just as god intended

You might have probably read to put it in the planting hole of fruit bushes you were going to plant, that's one possibility.

But it's now getting a bit late for much growth promoting, I'd as Aidy would be inclined to use it in the spring, else much of it just goes to waste.
