My beautiful bluebelle Tilly (Attilla the hen) is the only one of my girls who i dont have a clue about when it comes to her parentage! does anyone here know what 2 birds make a bluebelle????? thanks  :D
thinks her guardian angel`s gone on strike !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It will be a trade secret, closely guarded by the people who invented them. I know that they are blue in colour but if they also lay blue eggs, then they will almost certainly have a percentage of Arrucana in them.
They might be a straight cross or they may even be a three or four way cross. We can only guess really.

:(  I realllllllyyyyyy want to know now! I know my blackrock is a plymouth rock x rhode island, my ambers are light sussex cock x rir hen, babcock is a blackrock x rir and goldlines are rir cock x light sussex hen !
I will make it my mission to find out! she will lay brown eggs and she has dark grey/black legs, I thought because of all her feathering that she maybe had some blue orpington or something in her?

i've got a bluebelle....i was told that it was a cross between a maran and a rir? but probably with other bits mixed in!

I have 3 bluebelles (hence the pen name!). I got this information about them from the "Cotswold Chickens" website, although this isn't actually where I got mine from.

"The beautiful Bluebelle is derived from a Maran and Rhode Island. She comes in all varieties of grey colour from almost violet to dark grey. She has a very placid and sweet nature and will lay about 250 brown eggs that are described as having a plum blush."

Yer our looks like a crow! must admit not my fav bird but she is a sweet nature. But looking forward to the Plum blush eggs!!
