I have a couple of their trees from last summer.  They are a very good source of cheap trees as far as I can see.  It might be a litle hit and miss, but at those prices it's worth a gamble.

Some fruit trees do need another to pollinate best, 2 different varieties are best, most apple trees sold will have a pollinating group or something similar on the packaging to help you match up, but don't forget there's usually plenty of apple trees knocking round on a lottie site or a crab apple will do.

it might be handy to compile a list on the forums for this I'll look into it,

Some fruit trees are almost self pollinating but basically fruit trees pollination wise are split into three groupings.

If you let me know of your final selecion, i should be able to let you know if they are compatable.

Its an excellent price, I'd like to know what root stock they are on. For the quickest return and not too big a tree, they need to be 106 or 111.

I know of a big producer who fills any gaps in his orchard from this very source.

Hi Bodger I am looking at a cherry tree and a plum tree all dependent on eventual size as these will have to go in my garden as I am not allowed trees on my plot! I'm affraid you have lost me completely when talking about root stock  :?

I am also wondering if I would be able to plant them in a pot before planting out as I am looking into moving house and a requirement of the move is a bigger garden as I would like to be able to have a mni allotment out the back!

Any advice welcome many thanks Nicky xxx

Good buy, you may want to get the Bramley a couple of other varieties of apple to help with pollination  :D
