Baby Figs??
« on: October 13, 2008, 15:44 »
Hello,

Not sure if I'm posting in the right place but hopefully someone can help...

My small fig tree, after giving me 4 lovely figs over the summer (it's only a few years old) now has quite a few 'immature' baby figs (about the size of a walnut) on it.

I know you're supposed to knock them off during the winter but can you eat them (I'm thinking of the lovely marinated ones you get in Pizza Express...)? It just seems a waste to feed them to the chickens or the compost heap

Many thanks in advance,
xx

I would try cooking a few in syrup and seeing what happens.  Or making a chutney.
