One of these is an impostor, of unknown identity (and I don't mean the yoghurt pots).

Does anyone have any ideas what the impostor might be?  It's pretending to be a red cabbage at the moment ...  :)

Also on the Kohlrabi.  And it looks ready to eat as well.  Mash it up with some butter and cracked black pepper.  Yum.  :)

Looks as though it might be a kohl rabi then

Thanks, all.  Will haul it up when next I traipse along to the plot.  I've never eaten K R before, so this will be a real adventure.

It came in a strip of red cabbage plants from a local organic nursery, so obviously a seed had a bid for freedom ...

Aaaah, bless it!!

It's had a good life by the looks of it :D

I've never eaten it either so please let us know what you think of it when you do?

I like kohl rabi - you can cook & mash with butter & pepper, chop up into a soup (a lot like a turnip), or grate raw in salads.  It has a typical brassica mustard like flavour, not quite cabbage, nor turnip or swede but is mild.  Once tasted, you'll be buying the seeds to grow next year

I would be interested to see what you think of it as well, we hated it.  Think we are in the minority though.  Stunk the kitchen out as well.

I agree with the above, grew a row, but only tried one, and that was enough for us.

It might be a bit old though by the looks of it, if it's woody/pithy inside you might as well chuck it, however lovely they are otherwise.
