The Ambo actually yielded about 100 lb from a 26' row. I would estimate the Picasso to be about the same.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Hi

For us:

Earlies - Pentland Javelin - 66lb from 45ft (5x9ft rows)
Mains - Desiree - 141lb from 45ft (5x9ft rows)

Going to grow the same next year - wouldn't want to be disappointed but something else that didn't work as well

willnbirdie

For me:

Red Duke of York - ready first, super taste, good yield, no damage - skins bit tough. Its just a maybe for next year
International Kidney - excellent yield, tasty, no damage - definite for next year.
Foremost - good yield, no damage rather floury. doubtful for next year.
Charlotte - Had so many earlies I was a bit late to these. Good yield, bit of blight on foliage but tubers unaffected. no slug damage. No going to bother with 2nd earlies next year.
Pink Firs - Very heavy crop, lost about 40% to blight - taste too good not to have again next year.
King Edward - Only about 25% of crop clean, some wireworm and blight damage
Kerr's Pinks - huge spuds, most damaged by scab, and some wireworm - may try again next year
Romano - badly affected by blight, still have some to lift - might not be much left! Won't try these again.

By and large slugs not a problem - did zap em 3 times with nematodes though.

Update:
Golden Wonder: Small to medium tubers, lot of them slug nibbled - won't bother with them again.

Desiree: Disappointing size compared to how they've done in the past, but not one slug hole. May consider again.

Sarpo Mira: Only dug a few roots, but looking good, a lot bigger than the Desiree & not slug nibbled.

Yes we had some fantastic size spuds we put it down to all the rain that we had - considering this is the first year we have ever grown anything we were well chuffed

Earlies - Maris Bard - lost most of these to wireworm
Arran Pilot - these did ok (well the wireworm didn't fancy them)
Seconds - Kestrel - these did really well for me
Last year I lost a lot of Desiree to blight and decided not to do a maincrop this year as a result. My earlies didn't produce a big crop in terms of weight and I may do all seconds next year - its pretty wet here and that way I can get a decent crop without losing loads to blight. Well, that's the theory anyway.

We grew accent this year(first early) and didn't harvest til quite late. Beginning september I think.  Didn't think this would be a problem until tried cooking the blighters.  One minute of seeing the inside of the steamer and they crumbled to mush  . I then read in a seed catalogue that if you leave first earlies in the ground for too long they turn to mush when you cook them.  Very relieved to find this out; we certainly won't be doing this next year and will prob grow second earlies instead!
Thoughts lead on to purposes; purposes go forth in action; actions form habits; habits decide character; and character fixes our destiny

Yes about £60 to do 3 applications, went for the large pack this year but may do smaller one next year

Very effective on strawberries, brassica and lettuce. And I am fairly sure that it was worthwhile on spuds but so much blight, wireworm and scab confuses the conclusion

For a maximum crop - go for "Ambo" - great for mash, roast, chips & baked! Now tried & tested all ways!
