is that any variety of tom or all toms i never heard of that but would be great to plant along the edge of my plot one side, i have an empty plot and plagues me with couch  ,..... i wonder if it works on nettles

I always grow from seed, this year I decided to grow loads, trying the theory that outdoor toms poison couch grass.

Hope it works for you because it never has for me, not even with heavy mulch. The mulch only weakens couch and makes them easier to pull out.

I have sown some seeds today - my first ever seeds. We have beef steak and red pear. They are all warm in the airing cupboard for a few days now... hope something happens.

Read it in Andy Clevely allotment book. I am giving it a go see what happens, not fussed if it dont as it is a isolated patch I am trying it on.

I always put mine in a bit later. If they are to early you loose the first two trusses flowers and hence the tom to the cold weather. But if you grow your own you can feed them as youngster's and sell the excess plants.

nettles are my friends frazzy, I let em grow for a bit strim em down chuck em in a bucket of water, stink the place out, feed em to my plants and watch my beauties go crazy bonkers!! best plant food ever!!!!

yes i know nettles make good beer to  so i hear theres a recipe for it on the brewing section i cant wait to try it and Karl rekons it makes lovely tea.  i just dont like the nasty roots invading me teritory lol  *beats em back with a large stick*
